Forged Steel Globe Valve

Forged Steel Globe Valve is suitable for the most demanding of process applications. When open the media will flow with a minimal amount of turbulence and pressure drop through the valve and industries where the isolation of viscous fluids and liquid are required. Forged Steel  body, bonnet, plug type disc and Stainless Steel seat

The valve is designed to API602 and has an outside screw and yolk with rising stem. The handwheel operates the gate valve for both isolation applications only.
Why use gate valves: these valves provide a positive tight shut off in the horizontal or vertical position for process fluids in pipelines. They also offer a small amount of control and are used to throttle steam, gas or liquids.

All of the  ball valves use a full bore, 2-piece body design in short blasted stainless steel 316 (CF8M) and class-150 flanged ends conforming to ANSI/ASME B16.5 standard, these stainless steel ball valves also come with a PTFE & graphite ball seat as well as factory installed locking levers and actuator mounting plates to the ISO 5211 standard.the ball is

What Is The Common End Connections for Valves

The valve has many components that you can choose from when ordering, thus it is always important to know the media or application the valve will be used in. Knowing what end connections you need is very crucial. Not all applications can accommodate.

1.NPT (THREADED) END The valve is threaded into line with male threaded pipe going into the female threads of the valve. These come in 1-piece, 2-piece and 3-piece designs.

2.SANITARY (CLAMP) END Sanitary, or “clamp” valves have a flat face, o-ring groove that is suitable for mating with another clamp (or “ferrule”) end. This is the most common type of end connection used with sanitary/food applications because it is easy to remove from line for cleaning or repair.

3.SOCKET (WELDED) END The valve is welded in line to a mating piece of nonthreaded pipe. Valves have to be 3-piece design because body section needs to be removed prior to welding. Socket weld ends nds are not as extended as with butt weld valve; valve ends have to be cut out if replaced with another manufacturer’s valve (not universal).

4.BUTT WELD (EXTENDED) END Butt weld ends are used for actually welding the valve in line without having to remove the center section because the ends are extended. This is the 2nd most commonly used valve in sanitary applications and is used when the valve does not need to be regularly maintained or pulled out of line.

5.FLANGED END ANSI flanged valves meet international standards so that end-to-end (face-to-face) dimensions and mating flanges are the same with every manufacturer. The most common type of flanged valve is “raised face.”stv Valve Automation’s standard flange type is raised face ANSI 150# with a pressure rating of 275 PSI. ANSI 300# flanges are available as an option

6.LUG STYLE valves have threaded inserts at both sides of the valve body. This allows them to be installed into a system using two sets of bolts and no nuts. The valve is installed between two flanges using a separate set of bolts for each flange. This setup permits either side of the piping system to be disconnected without disturbing the other side. There are two different types of flange connections: either ANSI standard (primarily used in US) or metric/DN flanges (European). Both versions are available from Stv Valve Automation

7.WAFER STYLE valves have open (non-threaded) holes that allow a single bolt to go through each hole. The threaded bolts are then secured with a washer and nut to hold the valve between two flanges. There are two different types of flange connections: either ANSI standard (primarily used in US) or metric/DN flanges (European). Both versions are available from STV Valve Automation.

How to Choose Stainless Steel Ball Valve

Stainless steel ball valves are definitely one of the popular materials that many people buy. They are perfect for the food and beverage industry, agriculture as well as the pulp and paper industries. The reason behind this is because stainless steel does not corrode and when dealing with food which we consume you do not want your machines corroding. White it is true that stainless steel (SS) does not easily corrode or rust, it really depends on the oxygen level in atmosphere. For example, if it is a poor air circulation environment, depending on the grade of the SS valves the valves may or may not corrode. Therefore, it is always important when dealing in such circumstances to get a high grade type of SS valve.

The material stainless steel is not to be confused with carbon steel as carbon steel will rust at one point in its life. The difference between the two metals is the amount of chromium present. Stainless steel’s resistance to corrosion and staining, low maintenance, and familiar lustre make it an ideal material for many applications. The alloy is milled into coils, sheets, plates, bars, wire, and tubing to be used in cookware, cutlery, household hardware, surgical instruments, major appliances. These are examples of a few items one may be familiar with.

It is very important to know which grade of SS you need for your application as stated above if the grade is low, it will not last or you will have problems later down the road. Therefore, always consult with the manufacturer before buying. Global Valve and Controls can provide you with 316SS, 317SS and 304SS just to name a few. There are many different grades and one may not know that 304 is not to be used in the presence of sulfuric acid.
